I have a very complicated relationship with awards. Part of me sees it as some form of validation, but a good part of me sees them as a pay-to-play solution thats nothing more than a necessary evil in our industry.
Regardless of the baggage I carry with it, Im not too mad that the site was not being entirely dogged... considering I did it all myself. I'm by no means a developer beyond some cursory knowledge of CSS/html, so it's kinda rad to make something myself.
This isn't to say that I'm going to sit back and get comfortable with the site. Since I've been busy, I'm about a month or 2 late on posting this, and the site is already starting to look a lot different. I'm currently working to streamline a lot of things, as well as better tell case study stories. With all case studies populated through the catalog, the work felt very randomly thrown together... so I'm working on that. I'm also putting in some proper effort to.. properly display my work. I've often overlooked the value of putting craft in how I present previous work and would rather work on something new.. but I think that mentality has been doing me a disservice. Look for some major upgrades in case studies to start flowing in.
